Mbc Dedication Feature

Thanks to Covid restrictions, the last 2 years have been challenging for Mapalo Baptist Church in Kabwe, Zambia. Formerly, the church met in a school classroom in their community, but, like so many other African churches, they lost their meeting venue in the early days of the pandemic. The church continued to faithfully meet outside, even under unpleasant weather conditions.

Many Sundays were spent worshipping under the hot African sun. During the rainy season, they sought shelter under a large mango tree until the heavy downpours chased them all home. Nevertheless, the church endured.

Thanks to the generosity of HeartCry supporters, we were able to fund the purchase of a plot of land and then erect a simple shelter to shield the congregation from sun and rain. We recently received this note of thanks from Pastor Samuel Kasonde:

“Dear HeartCry,

Greetings to you all.  We are excited as Mapalo Baptist Church moved into our new shelter for worship!

Yesterday, on the Lord’s Day, we had our first Dedication service!  Oh, what a glorious day it was!  It was our dream which has come to pass!

Thank you for your support and partnership in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are also grateful to our sending church for their labor of love.

May God continue to bless you.

Yours truly,
Samuel Kasonde
Missionary pastor MBC”
