HeartCry Missionary Silas G. traveled 10 hours this week by motorbike to the Lamjung District in Nepal to seek and evaluate opportunities for ministry. The Lamjung District is located in an area of Nepal near the epicenter of the earthquake that killed thousands of people last week. Silas reports, in addition to the initial destruction and immediate devastation, people in the small village of Kolki have yet to receive aid from the government and emergency personnel and are presently exposed to torrential rainfall. Silas is hopeful of securing tin for a small cottage that can provide protection to those with little or no shelter. Besides providing shelter and supplies, Silas is sharing the gospel with confused, suffering, and hurting people. Providing physical shelter from harsh elements will give needful and temporary relief, and the gospel provides everlasting shelter through faith in Jesus Christ from the eternal wrath of God.
