This month has been a little complicated for me because of my health. I have had a bad infection in my throat, which has caused me to be unable to preach and teach, according to the recommendation of the doctor. However, I had already committed to preach for a youth event, and since I had improved a good deal after taking the medication, I decided to go ahead and preach. But it turned out to be a bad idea, because I ended up getting much worse again and found myself in the same situation as before. After that, I took seriously the need to take time to heal, which meant I had to step away from ministry in the local church for a time. Nonetheless, it has proven to be a time of spiritual edification for me as I have been able to spend time alone with God. This time has been an opportunity for me to be silent before Him, and it has been a delight.

By the grace of God, my throat has been completely restored to health and I am once again able to preach in the church. Throughout this time, the church here in Mallaritos has been loving and understanding about my health situation.

Toward the end of the month we had a time in which a group of pastors, primarily those associated with HeartCry, met in a town in the mountains called Frejolito. It was a good moment of conversation about the ministry, about future work together in the northern part of Peru, and of prayer. We were also able to visit some of the brothers and sisters in the surrounding area, pray for some brothers and sisters who are sick, and preach the Word of God for the edification of the church.
