The Church of Christ is sustained and guarded by Christ Himself and whatever comes will not undo what the Lord has done with his Church. At times our church struggles with passivity and at other times it shows great vigor. Sometimes the church is reverent and shows godly fear, and at other times I see disobedience. At times trials strip us of our strength, and at other times the same trials produce steadfastness. But as a pastor, I can rest in the knowledge that God is working wonderfully en His Church, and though I might not see as much as I would like to see, I know that God will carry out His work of conforming the Church into the image of His Son Jesus.

By grace we are sustained and persevere in the work where He has placed us. God continues to do His work in this place. We carried out evangelism in a neighborhood called Salamanca, going to the homes in the hills where the people live. We had the joy of being well received by many into their homes and of being heard. Many people heard the Gospel and my desire is to continue preaching in these places so that God might work in their hearts. We spent three days evangelizing to more than a hundred people, preaching the Gospel.

Some of the brothers and sisters are going through moments of discouragement. I beg you to pray for us, that the discouragement would not spread and that despite our weakness, the Lord might strengthen us and continue using us. There are not many who meet in the church each Sunday, and with the different trials in the families’ lives our meetings have decreased in number. We are praying for our brothers and sisters that they might be strengthened by God Himself.
