Sandu Deac, who serves in Pasat, Ukraine, providews the following update this moth:

“The ministry is going well in Grusevca. The Lord is at work. Two of the families with who we have been working lately are responding positively to our ministry. One of these people used to be a singer in the Orthodox Church, and the other one was the founder and the conductor of the choir in the Orthodox Church. The latter is attending our church services on a regular basis and he is happy to worship God with us in an apparently simple way. He is very eager to do something for the Lord and for his church. Last Sunday he told me he wanted to try to start a choir in our church. He asked for my opinion. I was happy to hear his proposition, because this means that the Lord had been working in his life more than I realized. He is aware of what it means to work with a choir in a church. First of all, it is about his relationship with the Lord and with the church and then this is a long-term commitment. I pray that the Lord would be glorified in this man’s life and that the church would be encouraged and strengthened spiritually through his ministry.

The ex-singer of the Orthodox Church is taking smaller steps. He is younger. By the way, his wife cannot accept the fact that he is in touch with the evangelicals. She doesn’t want to accept this change in her life and family. So, let’s pray. He is still asking what are the people saying about him and allows himself to be controlled by them in certain situations. I try to understand him. I know it is difficult for him to make such a radical change in a short while. Still, I am glad to see that the testimony of the believers matters to him and it becomes more and more important. He compares us to the Orthodox people and appreciates us. He is also more and more open to the Word of God and quotes from it in our discussions.”
