FOURTEENTH EVANGELISTIC SKI CAMP
Dana L.

The evangelistic ski camp was the highlight of this month. It was the fourteenth ski camp and the largest camp we ever had with over 50 people attending. In spite of the great number of people, including 20 non-Christians, it was a wonderful atmosphere of openness, love and unity. Some of the non-Christians came for the second, third or fourth time, others came for the first time from relationships with the students or graduates, and a few came from Facebook. We also had an Albanian freshmen student who studies foreign languages in Bucharest. Most of the non-Christians were very open to discuss the Gospel and spiritual issues. Last evening we had a sharing time and most people appreciated the people, the atmosphere, the community, the skiing and also the spiritual discussions.

The schedule was quite full with Bible expositions, skiing lessons, small group discussions and evening activities. God provided enough snow for the skiing lessons. One day the ski-lift didn’t work because of the high winds and we had a lovely hike in the mountains. We had three Gospel presentations: God and Man, Jesus and the Cross, Repentance and Faith. Many people were evidently paying close attention to the presentations. In my small group, I had two non-Christian students. One of them is a business student and she came with one of our Christian students. She also went to the Josh McDowell conference we had in December. She told us that her brother is going to an Evangelical Church in Bucharest. She was incredibly open to the Gospel and she had lots of questions. The other student was in her last year of studies, for the first time in an Evangelical context. She liked very much the skiing and the community. Although she wasn’t open to spiritual discussions, she participated in the Bible studies, analyzing the text.
