Dear brethren in Christ,
The Lord is good, and His mercy towards us exceeds all our expectations. Not only does He care for us, but He allows us to serve Him and to tell His glories in the midst of this generation in desperate need of God.
A new year has started and the hand of God has not shortened that it cannot save. Last summer we moved to Madrid to start a church plant in the capital of Spain. On October the third, as a small group of four families, we held our first Sunday Service at a dance school that we rented by the hour. We were planning to continue having our gatherings there until the end of this year, but the circumstances have changed, and this past Sunday we had our last service there. We have outgrown the space without even publicly “announcing” ourselves! The Lord has been bringing in people from all over town with the desire to hear the Word of God. We are currently 50 people who gather each Sunday, so we have had to step up, and find a place where we can all fit and also be able to invite family, friends, and comfortably host the visitors we do receive for each service. We pray the Lord can use this new location which He graciously provided so that more people can hear the Gospel and be transformed by its power.
Besides our Sunday Bible expositions where we are currently teaching the Gospel of Matthew, we have begun a Monday Bible study where we go through the foundational doctrines of the Christian Faith. Most of the congregation is either attending the class or following the class through the recordings later on the week. Three of them have already expressed their desire to be baptized. Glory be to God! There is a lot of work ahead of us, but we are so thankful to our Merciful God and we pray that He continues to work in the lives of His children through His Word leading us all to obey and testify. Please continue to pray for our gathering here, that the Lord would add to our number and build his church!
