Please continue to pray for Ruxi Vandici as she battles the effects of Lyme disease.  In her most recent report, she says, “I will have an appointment at the doctor probably on November 11th. I do not know whether she will continue treating me or not. Please pray that the Lord will work as He wills and show me what way to go.”

Ruxi provides the following report concerning her ministry among the students in Bucharest:

“The highlight of the month was meeting again with my small discipleship group as the University year started October 1st. It is a great joy for me to watch these two girls delight in the new truths they discover in the Word of God. We continue to study Charles Leiter’s book “Justification and Regeneration”, and recently we have been discussing that the regenerate person is a new person in Christ; their fundamental identity is not the flesh, but the new man in Christ. One of the girls shared how this truth brought a lot of joy and light into her heart, especially at a time when she was very discouraged about the remaining sin in her. She is so eager to share the truths she is learning with her friends! She explained to a friend who has just started attending church everything she has learned about the gospel and justification, and now this other girl is very excited and desires to study and learn more. We don’t know whether this other girl is a believer yet or not, but we are thinking and praying about inviting her as well to study the Bible with us. It is wonderful how the Lord works when the ones you disciple start spreading the Gospel and discipling others!

Part of the mentoring process I am doing is advising the girls about the dangers of some of their studies at the University. Many students study Psychology, either as a major or as a compulsory class. I keep pointing out to them the dangers and the many lies that lie at the foundation of psychology. Recently I had such a discussion with a girl and she started seeing the problem. She started praying earnestly for guidance and discernment in this area. But many Christians, especially those under 45 years of age do not see the problem of psychology and are not taught to check everything with the Scripture. It gets harder and harder to train the young Christians to check and recheck their belief system and their worldview with the Bible. Sadly the relativistic mentality of the age permeates the thinking of so many professing young Christians.

We are thankful for the freshmen who attended our events this past month. We pray that some will join our student ministry and be actively involved in evangelism. At our freshmen event we explained to them that we are a community which endeavors to bring the gospel to the college students. We had two wonderful testimonies of graduates who shared how they grew spiritually in discipleship groups and tried to be a good witness for Christ while college students. One of them shared how he grew up in a Christian family, went to a good church, but only while studying the book Justification and Regeneration in our student group meetings years ago he truly understood the gospel and trusted Christ. It is such a great joy for me to see these graduates walking with God years later!

We are getting ready for the biggest outreach we have had so far, November 7th – November 11th. There was a lot of work done to prepare for this outreach, but we know that only the Holy Spirit’s power can make it effective and fruitful for God’s Kingdom. We expect 80-100 students each night, and we will invite them to our follow up events in November and December. Please pray that the Lord will bless this outreach and work in people’s minds and hearts and bring many to Himself!
