On January 8 through the 12th we had a Bible study for pastors, preachers and our church members every year in January. A friend from the USA comes every time with a well prepared theme and we study it together. This year we studied the supremacy of Christ in Hebrews. It has been a real blessing to study the idea and the truths expressed in this epistle.
Evangelistic Visits
We keep visiting families in Hirbovat. Some people still celebrate Christmas in January and we used this opportunity to visit people and to talk to them. We visited Lenuta’s family. She and her husband live in the same house with her parents. Lenuta is the only believer in her familywhich is quite difficult for her. We talked to all of them about the Lord’s birth and about trusting Him. We encouraged Lenuta to pray for her non-Christian family members and to keep hoping that the Lord would change their hearts as well. Her husband and parents participated in our discussion. We prayed together and committed them into God’s hands. Lenuta and her sister, Tania, are doing a Bible study with Mariana at our place. They are the only believers in Hirbovat, so they need our prayers.
Also, we visited Efrosinea and Grigore. They had been waiting for us. We told them about the Lord and encouraged them to seek Him with all their hearts. They promised they would come to church, but haven’t.
We also made a visit to a young family with three children in another village. We met this family some time ago. A pregnant young woman, holding the hands of two children, came to our gate one Sunday morning some time back. She introduced herself and asked Mariana if she recognized her. She said she used to attend our children’s program in Roscani when we had a children’s ministry there. That was about ten years ago. This girl remembered us and came to our place. She is married now and has three children. We visited her family and brought a small present for the children. Pavel also gave them firewood, as their situation is not very good.
The Faithful Man Conference, January 20th
We had the opportunity to organize another conference for men on the theme, “The Faithful Man”. We had this event in the village of Cioburciu so that new people could attend. Over 40 men attended this conference and heard the truths of the man as priest, prophet, protector and provider for his family.
Don is serving as the HeartCry Coordinator for Eastern Europe. As an itinerant evangelist, his pulpit ministry is directed toward preaching on the inner life of the believer and the spiritual need of the lost. With HeartCry, his ministry includes organizing Bible conferences and corresponding with the HeartCry missionaries in Europe. He and his lovely wife Cindy live in Tuscumbia, AL.
