HeartCry Missionary Florin Stan pastors in Fieni, Romania. This month he shares of his interaction with students who attended their summer camp:
After we came back from our vacation, I started meeting again with some of the teenagers that attended the camp. My purpose is to help them know more about God, hoping that they will get saved
Rares is a fine young man. Since he loves playing ping-pong, I invited him to play with me. We started meeting on a regular basis and talked about God and salvation. Other teenagers also started coming with him when they heard that we met to play ping-pong. ….. Seeing this opportunity, I asked Andrei Mihalache to meet with them more often. Andrei agreed and now they meet without me. Andrei is a believer from our church who is helping me a lot in ministry.
I am also meeting with David. After the camp, his mother called me to ask about David’s behavior during the camp. I had a long conversation with Maria, David’s mother, about his behavior and I told her that I wished I could have talked to him more. She said she could bring him to Fieni if I wanted to talk to him again. They live in a village close to Fieni. We have already met and I talked to David and my wife talked to Maria, his mother. We had a blessed time together. We have a relationship now and we hope that the Lord would save them. Last Sunday, they came to church for the evening church service and this was a nice surprise for us. David is also going to attend a guitar course at our church.
Another teenage boy attended the camp. I mentioned in my previous report that I was surprised to hear that his mother had sent him to our camp. He is a naughty boy and, because of his aggressive behavior, his parents had to move him to school in another village. This was painful for Codrut’s mother, so after the camp, she called us to ask us about his behavior. She speaks well about us now. This lady is an influential woman, as she is a kindergarten teacher in our town. She used to be the principal of that kindergarten and that is when she had a conflict with us because we were passing out invitations to an event. Knowing that her son is a naughty boy, I spent special time with him during the camp and discovered that he was capable of respect if he was treated nicely. Now he is attending our church for guitar lessons and the last time he was there I was able to talk to his mother about religion. We pray that the Lord would search her heart and open her mind.
