Hudson Taylor was born May 21, 1832 and was a Christian missionary in China for over 50 years. His passionate desire for China was expressed when he wrote:
“If I had a thousand pounds China should have it-if I had a thousand lives, China should have them. No! Not China, but Christ. Can we do too much for Him? Can we do enough for such a precious Savior?”
Today, China is the most populous country in the world with over 1.3 billion people. We praise the Lord that He has opened hearts to receive Jesus Christ over the last 50-60 years. However, only 6% of the massive population is evangelical and there are over 400 unreached people groups. Too, there is 1 pastor for every 10,000 Christians, and that is defining pastor charitably. Pray that God will grant HeartCry Missionary Society more opportunities to help facilitate the gospel and biblical teaching in China!
