David Vale is the son of former HeartCry missionary, Marian Vale, who passed away in the spring of last year. Having already sensed a call to ministry prior to his father’s death, David assumed the shepherding duties of Holy Trinity Church in Frunzanesti, Romania. While the transition of filling the pastoral role of his father has been challenging, David has served admirably. In his recent report he shares some of experiences:

Leana keeps attending the church and the catechism course. Her neighbor, who is an Adventist, approached her this month and shared false teachings about baptism. He told her that when she gets baptized all her sins will be forgiven through the water. Sister Leana told him that was not what she had learned about baptism from the catechism course. But the man insisted on his false teaching. The man lives just across the street from sister Leana and see each other often. I explained the doctrine of forgiveness of sins to sister her, but please pray that the Lord would keep the man away from her and that He would strengthen the church with sound teaching. I want to start intensely studying the main doctrines with the church next year.

I have told you about Ionut (17) in a previous report. He kept coming to church, prays and is open to the Gospel. Please pray that the Lord God would regenerate him.

I did street evangelism and passed out Gospel tracts and New Testaments. I also organized different evangelistic events and invited different preachers to preach the Gospel. We also had a special evangelistic church service with Christmas carols where Brother Moise Marin preached the Word. New people came to church on this occasion and heard the Gospel. Please pray that the Lord would change their hearts. We have prayed and studied God’s Word this month. The believers are faithful as they continue attending the church. We used to fast together two days a week as a church for the believer’s spiritual needs and for our non-Christian family members. Now we have added a new fasting day for the teenagers and the children who attend our programs.

I have also started disciplining a group of teenagers (aged between 12-15) from our church. We meet once a week and study different Bible passages.

I visited a family from Gang No. 1. I’ve known this family for a long time and decided to see them. They welcomed me and I preached the Gospel to them and prayed with them. I noticed that there was a group of children in that area and I thought I should offer them Christmas presents and preach the Gospel to them as well. It was a good and encouraging experience. The children heard the Gospel and the family that allowed us to meet in their courtyard asked me to visit them again. So, I will see them again to share the Gospel with them. Please pray that the Lord would change their hearts.
