Greetings and many blessings in your homes and ministries. Last month was very difficult because of the rains and the flooding, but we also saw the faithfulness of our sovereign God. The first day in December it rained with torrential downpours for twelve hours, which gave us foreboding sense that the floods were coming. The next day at eleven o’clock at night the water from the Huallaga River began to enter our village. A little later it entered into our home. Beginning at three o’clock in the morning we tried to get the water out of the house. Oil spread all throughout the house and got into our food, so that we were unable to prepare meals. The following day we were all sick, and we had to try to get the water out and fix the damage from the flooding without any food to eat.

The town got together to try to get the water out of the lower parts of the village in order to prevent the spread of Dengue or Malaria. My wife began to get sicker and the medicine she had was not doing any good. Thanks to the Lord, a sister from the church prepared her tea, which my wife drank for three days and began to get better. A little more than a week after the flooding we began to fill in the floor of our house and church building because the flood waters had dragged away much of the dirt, concrete, and sand. The brothers and sisters of the church got together to try to get the water out of the church building. The problem is not only the water, but all of the clay and mud that the water leaves inside.

On the fifteenth of the month there was another torrential rain, and the alarm in our village made us very anxious. Thankfully, the river did not come over the bank and into our village. The following day a welder came and welded part of the roof, which had been ripped apart by a hurricane-like wind. Several houses lost their roofs because of that wind.

Brothers and sisters, please pray. They are predicting floods that will be much stronger this year because of El Niño. We are taking all of the precautions, but the strength of the river is so strong that it cannot be controlled. The flooding has destroyed the crops, the livestock, and the homes of many people.

Thank you for your prayers and for your financial support. May the Lord bless you greatly.
