Florin Stan has had an effectual door of ministry open to him as the public school has invited him to teach on moral conduct. This month, he reports:
The most important activity I had this month was teaching the course entitled “True Love Waits” in the public schools. The purpose of this course is to teach the children the principles of a moral living. I took some time to prepare these lessons, as I had to read more about adolescence. Then I made a presentation in PowerPoint, in order to be more efficient in teaching. I thought it was worth it to spend more time preparing this course, because it honors God. Besides this, the course had to be well done if I expected results and I intend to teach it during the summer camp. I also wanted to contact other schools and to volunteer to teach this course to the 8th grade students.
I taught three of my four lessons to an 8th grade class. The students were really interested. Many teachers complain that they can’t teach their lessons to this class, because the students are not paying attention and they do other things, so the fact that the students paid attention to me meant a lot. The psychology teacher also attended my course and he told me that my lesson is very good for the students.
Sonia is one of the students’ mother. She told me she really liked the fact that I was teaching these things to the students and said I should have started doing this a long time ago. This was a real encouragement for me.
I am getting close to the students and I hope I will be able to share the Gospel with them and that many will be saved. Some of these students will also attend our summer camp and I hope I will be able to spend more time with them there. I also hope that this project, “True Love Waits”, will open doors for me for new relationships with the teachers, with the students and parents. I want to be used by God and ready to use any opportunity that He gives me.
