Testimony of Salvation

My name is Saman S., and I will share my life before and after believing in Jesus. Before believing in Jesus, I was a person who had little contact with anyone and was not a very social person. I used to live a life of despair and chaos. I was terrified of ghosts, the dark, and everything I could not accept. I was most afraid of death.

Questions always ran through my mind: “What did I live for? Where will I go when I die? Can anyone be spared from death?”

One day, my family ran through a spell of time that was very difficult for all of us. It made me feel like half of me was dead. I started thinking about being a nun at the pagoda to find peace, but one of my family members stopped me.

One day, I was sent to stay in Joshua Center (a Christian dormitory). That place was different from anywhere I had ever been to. They worshiped, sang, prayed, and read the Bible. These things gave me peace of mind and solved my questions. I was curious, and decided to believe in God. Then from day to day, my life changed little by little.

I learned how to pray to God for help with the problems I had in my life. I knew that I couldn’t help myself, but I now had a God that could! I thank God that he answered my prayers every time I prayed.

SAMAN SANANG’S CALL TO MINISTRY:

Before I joined the evangelist team with Shalom, I shared the Word of God with my friends at school. Sometimes, I would go out with fellow young people and share the Good News with different villages. I joined the Shalom Evangelism team to focus more on reaching out to as many churches as we can. Specifically to the Bu-nong people.

I believe God called me to do this work, even though it is sometimes difficult and different from any other experience, but I am happy and have joy to serve him. I used to pray for a long time that God would use me. He opened the door for me to head out 3-4 days a week for evangelism amongst numerous villages.

My dad has many relatives spread all over Mondulkiri, so this was a golden opportunity for me to bring the Shalom evangelism team to meet my relatives. My wish is that they would see the need among the people, and would send out aid to the area. I have more joy in life when I work in God’s ministry than when I work elsewhere. I thank God for consistently meeting the needs of His children. God bless you all.
