Church Planter – North India
Rehir G. has been in the ministry since 1995. At first, he was an evangelist and traveled all over sharing the Good News of Jesus. In 2001 he began helping to train other missionaries to better equip them for service. He continues in both of these areas of ministry today.
By God’s grace, Rehir’s church became autonomous on September 1st, 2015, meaning that they are able to fully support him financially.
Testimony of Conversion
I am Rehir. I was born and brought up in a Hindu family. I have two brothers and two sisters. I lost my father when I was in the tenth grade. He died of a heart attack. This was the beginning of my family crisis. We not only lost our father, but also the only means of supporting our family. Days passed and many problems came. I had to discontinue my studies and start working in our family business. It was at this time that I began to live a sinful lifestyle with very bad habits. I was reading bad novels, watching movies, and spending unnecessary time with my friends.
In 1993, some people from a church came to our village for an outreach program. I purchased a New Testament from them and started reading it. One of the leaders came up to me and invited me to the Sunday worship service. It was there that a brother shared the Word from Isaiah 49:15, “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you.” With this text, he explained to me about the undying love of Christ. Day by day, I continued reading the Bible and attending the worship services on Sundays.
Through Bible reading and fellowship with the pastor, I realized that I was a sinner and could not save myself from the wrath of God. I also realized that Jesus died on the cross to save me and give me eternal life. Hence, on January 15th, 1994, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Then, on March 5th, 1994, I was also baptized. The Lord called me out from the darkness into light and snatched me from the hands of Satan (Acts 26:18). Now I am a child of God. The Lord Jesus Christ gave His life for me. He has also shown me that He saved me so that I might work for the salvation of many.
One week after my salvation, the Holy Sprit called me to minister and I committed myself to His calling. Not many days later, God proved His calling in my life through what I read in John 15:16, “You did not chose me but I choose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit.” Immediately, I started learning and sharing the Bible in the nearby villages.
I am grateful to God for providing me with an opportunity to go through different programs to be trained in the Bible. I am also grateful that He enabled me to continue with my education. In 2006, I finished my Masters of Social Work degree (M.S.W). On November 1st of the same year, God provided me with a wife and we were married according to His plan. In February of 2008, God also blessed us with a daughter. We named her Jessica.
Since 1995, I have been in the ministry in North India. I am thankful to God for using me in various fields. I started my ministry as an Evangelist, and God used me to preach His Word in many places by distributing tracts and sharing Gospel packets in the market and villages. Since 2001, I am also involved in training missionaries to teach and preach the Scriptures. We have traveled by scooters and bikes for more than 600 km to spread the Word of God in the remote areas. My family and I live to serve Jesus Christ.
