Testimony of Conversion

The gospel came into my life more than 25 years ago.  I was preached to by some of my relatives who had been “paleros,” they had been in witchcraft for years, but at that time, they had already abandoned that belief and were attending a Pentecostal church.

I remember something in those early days when reading the Scriptures, God convicted me of sin and put a need in me to seek Him and know Him more and more.  I repented and believed in Christ for salvation.

I was for a while attending that Pentecostal church where, despite all the things I saw there and which I never accepted with faith or sincerity, I decided to start attending a conventional Baptist church where I was discipled, baptized, and of which I was a member for about 15 years.

Call To Ministry

By God’s grace and for His glory, from my first years there, I began to serve the Lord part-time as a missionary and then full time being supported by the church.

While there, the Lord, in His providence, brought to me the doctrines of grace and other key doctrines, such as the sufficiency of the Scriptures, which God used to make me take the firm decision to start visiting the Reformed Baptist church to which I belong and, which also by His grace and for His glory I am pastoring.

We all have too many (countless, innumerable) experiences and testimonies to share, but I believe that the best and greatest testimony is that of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A testimony that is truly faithful and worthy to be heard and received by all.

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes, he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” — (2 Corinthians 8:9);

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself of all his possessions, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” — (Philippians 2:5-11).

All glory to God for what He has done, is doing, and will do, in us, with us, and through us, for all eternity. Many, many blessings to you, your family, and your church. We pray to wish you a happy end of the year, and a prosperous new year, in God’s good, pleasing and perfect will.

“May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more than you are now and bless you, as he has promised you!” — (Deuteronomy 1:11).

Your brother and servant, Edel.
