Testimony of Conversion

I was a devoted Catholic who adored St. Martin of Tours, and per tradition, we paraded our patron saint along the River of Bocaue in the hopes that it would provide a bountiful harvest. We were a farming community, and our income depended on the river to water our crops.

By God’s grace, I was invited to attend a worship service at a small local Baptist church.

While there, my heart and mind wasn’t present in the worship, but during the preaching of God’s Word, it became crystal clear to me that I was a sinner who deserved the eternal wrath of God. I learned that Christ had died for me, had saved me, and had made Himself available through his substitutionary death.

It wasn’t about any merit or work, but by grace through faith.

In Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.

CALL TO MINISTRY:

As I continued to read and learn from God’s Word, I realized that the Lord was calling me to full time ministry. Every day, everywhere I went, I looked at people’s needs and felt burdened to share the Gospel.

One day, the Lord showed me Romans 10:13, “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” How could they hear without a preacher, and how can anyone preach unless they are sent?

I served at a youth camp, and the theme was “Youth in Conflict.” I decided to enter Bible school and surrender myself to full time ministry.
