Dear HeartCry,

Greetings to you in the glorious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. First, I thank God for the marvelous works He has done in the past month through my ministry. What a joy and encouragement to know that God is continuing His saving work among many people today and that my ministry is one of the means He uses to bring His message of grace, love and hope to the fallen men, even my own tribe! I always thank God for your faithful partnership even until now without which I would not have come thus far, humanly speaking.

It has been one of the busiest months for me. I, together with my team, have reached to over 10 Lahu villages many of which are existing churches as well as many animists and Buddhists living there. I preached the Gospel to hundreds of unbeliever in an open air preaching. I also preached at three churches and taught the Bible in a village on Justification, regeneration, and sanctification. There was an animist from a nearby village and having heard the message he invited us to visit his village and preach the Gospel, and if possible, even to send a missionary to the village. And many more invitations I have received from other animist villages in the region where we or other preachers have not gone before.

There was another old man, a very strong animist chief, who attended one of the services and joined in the discussion after the service. He was losing his hearing and I offered him a lift to the clinic for check-up. So he came with me to the town and stayed two nights with me. I and three other pastors preached the Gospel to him during his stay. He used to reject us when we went to preach at his village and didn’t let us enter the village. Now he went home happy and I hope he will soon let me preach to his villagers too. I am making a plan for a gospel trip to those 10+ villages in April 2018. Please continue to pray for that too.

Our small congregation is growing in the knowledge of Christ. Two animist families have been coming to the church to listen to the Gospel message. Please pray that they would be granted faith in Christ to receive salvation and be added to the church in good time. My church is six months now. We thank God for that and we were able to celebrate a thanksgiving service where about 300 people both believers and non-believers attended and heard the Gospel message. By special grace of God, despite travelling a lot outside the town, I have been able to preach at my church on most of the Lord’s days of the month and mid-week services.

In the following week, 21-23, we have our AGM and a pastoral conference where every pastors, evangelists and church leaders under our organization, including the other two HC missionaries in my region, will gather for three day. Two pastors from the UK are teaching us during the days and I am translating them into Lahu. I will also meet with the two HC guys separately for prayer and mutual encouragement. Please pray for my family as my wife and I will be travelling to Thailand for our medical check-up on 25.

Finally, brethren, please pray for the work over here. So many open doors for evangelism and church planting are on our way. Thank you very much and God bless you.

Yours in Christ,

JW (November 2017)
