Prayer

Please remember Brother Jipa’s father in prayer as his battle with cancer increases.  In his ministry report this month he writes:

The season for evangelistic events started in May. This gives me energy to get more involved in the people’s lives and to try to stir their interest in God. This is a nightmare for the Orthodox priests, who are trying by all means to discourage us. I met the priest in Glodeanu Sarat who became very angry and asked us to stop talking to the people about our faith. I asked him to explain to me what grace and faith are in his understanding. I was stunned by his explanations. I told him my opinion about faith and grace and he left ashamed. I tried to make him aware of the fact that faith is not only the rational acceptance of God’s existence, as he said, but it is our answer to God’s love. Before this, the priest said proudly that the villagers are believers and they don’t need to be taught about faith. I explained to him what true faith means, the faith through which people are being saved. This faith means that our hearts belong totally to the Lord. After these explanations, he gave with shame as the people that were passing by and started gathering around us to hear what we were talking about.  I told the priest: “Look at them! You know them better than I do! You know that their hearts are far away from God and from the church. They need to be woken up from their indifference and unbelief. They are spiritually dead and are going to hell.” I promised him solemnly that we would stop talking to the people and passing out Bibles when I see him doing it in the center of the village. When he becomes an evangelist, I will be useless there and I will go somewhere else. I felt so sorry for him when he left, after friendly shaking my hand. I don’t think he will bother us again. And I believe that his sermons on faith and grace will be different from now on. This priest is on my prayer list now.

We had evangelistic outreaches in Pitulicea, Dulbanu, Margineanu, Casota, Vacareasca and Corbu this month. We had a full month, when we enjoyed God’s peace and kindness.

There are three weeks left until the first summer camp, so we are making preparations for this. We met with the children, with their parents and with the school leaders. We have had a good cooperation with the school principal, who will take care of the transportation to the campsite. This camp is for the children in Pitulicea and the surrounding villages. We will go to a place close to Valenii de Munte. This is a very nice area, the accommodations are very good and the prices are reasonable.

I also attended an evangelistic outreach in Bucharest with the HC missionaries at Adonai Church, which was celebrating a special event. We enjoyed it so much.

Don is serving as the HeartCry Coordinator for Eastern Europe. As an itinerant evangelist, his pulpit ministry is directed toward preaching on the inner life of the believer and the spiritual need of the lost. With HeartCry, his ministry includes organizing Bible conferences and corresponding with the HeartCry missionaries in Europe. He and his lovely wife Cindy live in Tuscumbia, AL.
