It is my privilege to inform you about the current status of our church planting work in the city of Frankfurt, Germany. We greatly appreciate your intercession on our behalf.
Appointment of Elders
Since I began working to plant a church in Frankfurt, I pondered over the question of whether I should remain here to shepherd the flock or if I should go on to plant another church as there are plenty opportunities in Germany. But at the end of September, during a day of fasting and praying, brother Tobias Riemenschneider and I were appointed as elders of the church in Frankfurt. It is a tremendous joy and help to have brother Tobias at my side. I thank the Lord for graciously equipping Tobias for the role God has assigned to him. May I ask you to pray for us that we might pay careful attention to ourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made us overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood (Acts 20:28)?
Official Day of Constituting
After two and a half years of missionary work, we are delighted to announce, with gratefulness towards our Lord Jesus Christ, that the Evangelical-Reformed Baptist Church of Frankfurt will be formally constituted on Sunday, November 13, 2016, if the Lord is willing. On this occasion, brother Tobias and I will be officially ordained as pastors. We are grateful for your prayers as we long to exist for the glory of God alone.
In Need for Guidance and Wisdom
Once we have formally constituted the church, we will begin to baptize and to receive into membership all those qualified for membership. We are in great need of wisdom from above as quite a few long to be baptized and/or will apply for membership. Please pray that the Lord will guide us all with His wisdom in this truly significant process.
Still in Negotiation
After a long time of searching, we finally found a suitable facility to rent for our congregation in Frankfurt. We are currently negotiating with the landlord. Please pray that the Lord will grant us success and His wisdom in order to make decisions that are pleasing to Him.
