HeartCry missionary Sandu Deac has a wide range of ministry in the villages of Pasat, Grisevca, Molodia.  He reportrs in January:

“I have the joy of greeting you again at the beginning of this year! May God’s mercy be upon you! I am grateful to the Lord for His kindness to me and to my family. I am also thankful to Him for inspiration and guidance in ministry.

On February 5th, we will celebrate 17 years of mission work in Ukraine. In all these years, we have seen God’s wonderful works for our family and for the people we are serving here with joy and dedication. The Lord has blessed our ministry in almost all the Romanian villages in this area and also in Odessa and Transcarpatia region. I can see the results of the grace of God spread through us, His servants. I am grateful to the Lord for this great honor of having chosen me to take His name among the nations. I pray that the Lord would keep us in His grace and to show us His will for us and for those that we minister to.

We celebrate Christmas in January and this is a great opportunity for the church of Christ to minister to the people in the community. People go caroling at Christmas, so we managed to visit 8 families in Grusevca this way. Those people welcomed us and we spent some time together, telling them about God’s grace and sharing with them the joy of Christ’s incarnation. If it hadn’t been for this celebration, they wouldn’t have welcomed us in their homes, at least not all of them. And most of them wouldn’t have let us tell them about Christ. That’s why the holidays are good opportunities for us to get closer to the people and to share with them the Gospel message.

We visited several poor families in our village. We usually visit them before Christmas, but this time we chose to go after Christmas, when things go back to their routine. Each family received a package with food supplies, Gospel tracts, and Christian calendars. We also encouraged them to accept God’s goodness and His precious gift, Jesus Christ, offered to us through His grace.

Our church also got involved in helping the orphans. Almost all the believers were involved in this project. We collected food supplies and money and then we went to this orphanage. The children enjoyed our gifts. Two girls from this orphanage attended our summer camp two years ago and turned to the Lord there. They got baptized last August and they are members in a church in Chernovtsy now. On February 18th, these children will come to our church. We are praying for them that the Lord would save them.

As you already know, we try to take any opportunity we have to preach the Gospel to the people. Funerals are such opportunities when we preach evangelistic messages. We had one this month. May the Lord have mercy and save the people that heard the Gospel message on this occasion.”
