Dear brothers & sisters,

Thank you for partnering with us in the spread of the gospel here in Sweden. Since the last writing, we had the privilege of taking a road trip with my family to visit two of the Bible studies that we are helping. We were able to meet together with other church planters and to do some training for the leaders for those Bible study groups. The training was based on 1 & 2 Timothy and focused on the importance of character in a leader. It was an encouraging and uplifting time to see the hunger for the Bible and the possibility of more churches planted in the future.

Please pray for these three groups- for mature leaders to be formed among them and others to come alongside to help plant healthy churches. In addition, pray that as we continue to train and mentor the Bible study group leaders, the Lord’s will would be done.

On the trip, we also had the joy of visiting another like-minded church outside of Stockholm (the Swedish capital) which was planted a few years ago. I remember hosting a conference together with them more than 10 years ago when they were a Bible study group. Now, I was able to preach in their established church. It is truly an answer to prayer to see this transition. That church, along with our church, was first started as a Bible study group. Right now, there are at least half a dozen Bible study groups in six of the ten biggest cities in Sweden that long for churches to be planted. Pray especially for elder qualified men, and for God to build his church in those cities.

Refugee Crisis:

Our hearts are broken for the people of Ukraine. Right now, hundreds of refugees, mainly women and children are coming to seek asylum at the refugee camp in our city. My wife and others from the church are going there to help and to give gospel hope. Pray for God’s mercy in this situation and that people would ultimately find their rest and hope in Jesus.

The Church:

We are now enjoying the freedom to meet without restrictions. We don’t want to take that for granted. As a church, we are currently going through the book of Daniel and the book of Hebrews. This has been a great encouragement in the midst of a world of unrest around us. Please pray for my fellow elder who has problems with his back (herniated disk). You can pray for his recovery and also as they are planning to move back to Northern Ireland where they come from. Please pray for God to direct their steps. It has been such a blessing to serve together now for six years, and we will continue to partner even if we will not be at the same location. Pray for this transition for the church and for God to raise up other elders.
