I recently traveled to South India with another brother associated with HeartCry to do a pastors conference and to meet with some of our missionary leaders. The theme of the pastors conference was “Clarifying the Gospel,” and we preached on the following topics:
- The Primacy of the Gospel in the Minister’s Life
- God is the Gospel
- The Character of God
- Total Depravity and the Great Dilemma
- The Gospel
- The Doctrine of Regeneration
- Faith and Repentance
- Sanctification
- Assurance of Salvation
- A Charge to Study
The conference went really well, and many of the pastors were greatly affected with the truths of the Gospel. Here is a report from Brother Sundar about the conference, who helped organize the conference and translate some of the preaching:
God has been so gracious to us in bringing His servants from the USA to train up indigenous gospel workers. God helped us to hold this conference. We have given an invitation to HeartCry Missionary Society to come and help us to train pastors, missionaries and evangelists who never had the privilege of studying in a formal Bible institute or seminary. These pastors and evangelists are working among the least evangelized people groups in the 10/40 window. In one state here in South India alone, there are 596 unreached people groups according to Joshua Project’s survey. The greatest need we are facing on the mission field in India is a lack of training. There are many hundreds of indigenous gospel workers who have never been to Bible school. In spite of their poverty, and with great sacrifice, they are sticking to the call of God, laboring for God’s Kingdom in remote villages.
HeartCry accepted our invitation and sent brothers to help us conduct training. We had a blessed time of learning the Scriptures. God used the brothers from HeartCry powerfully among us. We appreciate these dear brothers for their visit to us.
They have taught us a total of 10 topics. Through these teachings many of us have been blessed. There are some brothers and sisters who learned for the first time systematically on these topics, and they are almost in tears for God giving them the chance to learn. Though these teachings are very basic, many have never learned them, and some have never learned them systematically. Some brothers have traveled by train for 39 hours to attend this conference.
We want to appreciate and thank God for the HeartCry leadership and for Bro Paul Washer, especially for your great help in the area of true teachings (Reformed). We lack these teachings here. False prosperity teachings are dominating India, and they are pouring out their literature and destroying the work of God. We are lacking Reformed literature here. We are praying that God may open many doors for us to have such sound teachings and literature in the coming days.
