HeartCry has taken measures on multiple levels to ensure the oversight of its ministry and its endurance in faithfulness. Our structure of accountability is two-fold: (1) our local church; and (2) a board of directors.
Local Church Accountability
Every staff member at HeartCry Missionary Society is required to be a member of a confessional Baptist church, whose elders maintain open and personal communication with HeartCry leadership. This is to ensure that every laborer is under the care of a congregation and elders (I Thessalonians 5:12; Hebrews 13:17), walking in the truth (III John 4), and contributing to the edification of a local church (Ephesians 4:11-12).
Board of Directors
As a 501(c)(3) (or non-profit) organization, HeartCry Missionary Society has a Board of Directors to aid in directing and monitoring its activities. Per HeartCry’s by-laws, the board manages the “property, affairs, and business” of the ministry and exercises such powers as are allowed and prescribed by statute, the ministry’s articles of incorporation, and its by-laws. Some of those duties include the approval of the ministry’s budget, oversight of compensation through a Compensation Committee, oversight of the management of financial assets, and the appointment of the President/Executive Director. The Board of Directors meets at least twice a year.
The board members are:
- Dr. Nathan Berry – Fairmont, West Virginia
- Lee Dodd – Little Elm, Texas
- Dr. John Snyder – New Albany, Mississippi
- Paul Washer – Roanoke, Virginia
