Paul has joined David Ngetich in planting a church in the tea plantation highlands of Kericho, Kenya. This new work is under the oversight of Pastor Naphtally Ogallo and Grace Baptist Church Eldoret.

Testimony of Conversion

I grew up the first born of 4 girls and 4 boys. My parents were Romans Catholic. When I was between 11 and 12 years old, they took me to church. By then I was in grade 4, and what I saw people doing and how they behaved didn’t match what we were being taught, which caused me to question. My father used to smoke and drink alcohol. This bothered me so much that I quit Roman Catholicism. Sometimes my father would violently fight my mum in our presence. One day I cornered him and questioned him about the church and his behavior, and he kept quiet. From then I quit that church completely. At the age of 16, I found a school friend who introduced me to their evangelical church. Over time, I heard the gospel taught much differently from the Romans Catholics.

In 1990 I came to understand that good works will not earn me eternal life. I knew I was a sinner. I heard the word preached and felt my sin and my desperate need of a deliverer. Through that Word preached, I accepted the saving grace by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. There my life changed until my parents and siblings noticed. They also began attending the church. My late father also became anxious to know more about Christ. I’ve seen with my mother that her knowledge of Christ is becoming real in her life. God has been gracious with me in my walk with Him.

Call to Ministry

As I kept attending the church and listening to a variety of teaching and preaching, I was discontent with how they brought their messages. At some point, they compromised with sin and encouraged that salvation was by good works. It was against what I had read in the Bible (Eph. 2:9). My daily readings of the Bible helped me see light.

Although I continued in that state, there was still a vacuum in my heart which required answers. As I grew up in faith, I began teaching Sunday school and leading youth in that evangelical church. Many times, I would be given opportunity to preach and lead services. I grew bolder and preached what the Bible says. I received encouragement from church members, and some called me to their homes for Bible studies.

Honestly, I loved the discussion we had in Bible studies. This pushed me to understand the Bible better. This continued into college, where I became Christian Union leader, and many times I would preach in the meetings. The more I did this, the more I realized that God was preparing me for this wonderful ministry, to help others come to the realization of their sins and turn to God in repentance and faith.

In 2008, I joined an evangelical college and graduated in 2011. Before then, I had been given to pastor a local church near my residence which I led for 3 years. After my graduation, I was given a full-time ministry in a distant church which I led for 7 years. In 2015, I encountered a dear family who came for missionary work at Tenwek Hospital (Dr. Chen & his wife Celeste). I will never forget to mention them in my daily prayers. I invited them to our church and they stayed with us for their time in Kenya. Through his wife Celeste, I was introduced to very delicious teaching of God’s word of God. They introduced me to KReST (Kisumu Reformed School of Theology) where I am a student.

Through Pastor Naphtally Ogallo and Pastor Samuel Oluoch, I’ve become a Reformed pastor. In 2019, I exited the evangelical church and attached myself to high school chaplaincy work.

This is how God called me to His ministry and how He uses me for His glory.
