Nicu Vulpe is pastor of Bethany Church in Pucioasa, Romania. This month, the HeartCry missionary/pastor was used to encourage a woman who had attempted suicide to look to Christ.
This month he shares: The Lord gave me the opportunity to share the Gospel with a woman who had a very sad story. She had been abandoned in a hospital when she was born and grew up in an orphanage. She had tried to kill herself just a few days before I talked to her by jumping into the path of an oncoing truck. The driver of the vehicle managed to stop before hitting her. Some time ago, she took many pills in an attempt to kill herself and was transported to the hospital in a coma. Then I found out why she was trying to take her life. It was because she has arthritis and diabetes. The doctor told her that he would have to amputate her legs. This resulted in a very strong inner struggle which led her to call me. She had attended one of our evangelistic events this summer and had my phone number. When I talked to her, she was very receptive and began to understand what her greater problem was. She saw that the reason the Lord hadn’t allowed her to die when she tried to kill herself. She realized where she would have beeen in eternity. The Lord searched her heart and she asked Him to have mercy on her soul! She’s been attending the church for three weeks now and is very eager to fulfill God’s will.
The lady told another family about the Lord and now they come to church together. I have discovered that her world is quite big in Pucioasa, so I encouraged her to help us meet her acquaintances. We already have had a meeting with about 12 to 15 people that know her. I asked my wife and another sister from the church to welcome these ladies among them and share the Gospel using their personal testimonies. They had a very good meeting as the women found out that there are no orphans in God’s Kingdom and that any limitation in this life can be an invitation to come into His Kingdom. This was a good opportunity for our church members to minister to these ladies.
