S.sudan 3.21 Feature

Over the past 18 months, we have introduced our supporters to a remarkable work that God is doing in northern South Sudan. Whenever I receive an email from our friend Joseph in Aweil, my faith is always strengthened. I know that you will also be encouraged by his latest update:

“The other day Pastor John came to me to tell me how much he has benefited from studying Paul Washer’s workbooks that you gave us. He was very excited. He said that the Gospel workbook is the best study he has done so far in his 26 years of being a pastor. I asked him to share that with the HeartCry team on a video and he joyfully agreed to repeat what he said in front of a camera.

Pastor John was a child soldier during the SPLA liberation movement. It was during his years in the army that he felt God calling Him to serve full-time in ministry. He planted the first evangelical church in Northern Bahr el Ghazal after marching from the Equatorial region of the country to here in Aweil, a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. Pastor John has walked twice from this region to Uganda for Bible training. Praise the Lord that he can now receive his training here without having to walk so far to be trained.

He has already completed the Gospel workbook. He is now working on the other two (God and Man). Once he completes them, he will join us in translating the work books into the local Dinka language.

The first batch of Dinka Bibles have also arrived. We are very thankful. We will not wait before we start distributing them. We want to do it ASAP. I will send you a video and a few pics on the distribution process soon.

We want you and the team at HeartCry to know that we are very, very grateful for supporting God’s work here in Northern Bahr el Ghazal. May the Lord’s name be made Great in this nation.

In Him,
Joseph”
