Chile is a long, narrow country that stretches along the western edge of South America, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, Argentina to the east, Bolivia to the northeast, and Peru to the north. Santiago is the capital and largest city. Chile has one of the strongest economies in Latin America, with major industries including mining, agriculture, and forestry. Roman Catholicism has traditionally been the dominant religion in Chile, though religious affiliation has been declining in recent decades. Whatever religion or system of thought dominates the country, Chile’s great need is for the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.
