Testimony of Conversion

I was living in a tribal village in the mountainous area in Mindoro. We in the village did not know God and had never heard the gospel. In my youth I remember when foreign missionaries came to us and shared the gospel in our community. We were excited—not about hearing the gospel—but by the oddity of foreigners coming into our tribal village. Still, those missionaries devoted their time to teaching us the Scriptures and the truth of the gospel. Soon I acknowledged my sinfulness and I put my trust in Christ as my Savior and Lord. I continued to study the Word of God through the guidance of those missionaries living with us in our community. I came to believe that assurance of eternal life is found only the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Call to Ministry

In my early Christian life, I devoted my life to serving God. I did not have a formal education, but by the grace of God He used the missionaries to train me in theology and disciple me for ministry. Still, I hesitated to teach God’s Word because of my insufficient knowledge and inability to write and to read well. But despite my weaknesses, God worked through me to teach and preach the gospel. Soon I realized that sharing the gospel is my great passion and joy in life. The missionaries sent me to Bible school for formal education and training for the ministry. After my graduation, I devoted twenty-five years to teaching at Mangyan Bible School. Currently, I am the pastor of Valley View Tribal Village Reformed Baptist Church
