My name is Nchimunya Nkholongo Lungu and I was born and raised in a Christian family. My family and I attended a Baptist church in Botswana. As a Christian family, it was traditional practice to attend church every Sunday. My sisters and I attended Sunday-school and I enjoyed learning stories about the Bible and of Jesus Christ. When I turned 12 years old, a bully from my school began to attend church and he was in the same Sunday-school as I was. To avoid the bully, I stopped attending church and Sunday-school.

When my mother noticed my lack of enthusiasm to attend church, she was worried and asked one of my Sunday-school teachers to visit me and tell me about the Gospel. My mum’s friend asked me if I had received the Lord Jesus as my personal Savior. I didn’t know what that meant and I told her I would think about it, but I was not interested to attend church with a bully. Years passed by and I always wondered what it meant to receive the Lord Jesus as a Savior in my life.

As I grew up into a teenager, my sister invited me to join her at a youth camp our church hosted in South Africa. I agreed to go with her and I had an amazing time learning about Christ. On the 5th of January 2003, the pastor at the camp asked those who would like to receive Christ that night to come to the front. I realized at that moment I was a sinner and I had not given my life to Christ. I responded to the altar call and the pastor led us in prayer to receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

After that youth camp my life was transformed and I experienced the joy of accepting Jesus in my heart. I began to attend youth service at church and the following year I began to attend baptism classes in obedience to God’s word and proclamation of my faith to the world. I was baptized on the 24th August 2004. When I completed high school in 2005, I took a gap year and served in ministry at Youth For Christ Namibia. That is where my passion for ministry grew and I dedicated my life in serving Christ and being a Christ follower.

I then enrolled at a Bible college in Cape Town to get theological training as well as study psychology and counselling in a Christian perspective. I believe that I have a calling to minister to others through my profession in psychology. I met my husband Joshua Lungu when I worked at YMCA and God blessed our union in marriage in 2015. I am pleased to partner with my husband in full time ministry. It has always been my vision to serve the Lord in whatever capacity possible.
