Ion and Ani Tomeci serves with Sorin Prodan through the Providence Church in Brasov. This month, he gives us the following news of his outreach:

We’ve been involved in coordinating a five-day project in five different places in Pucioasa area. When we have such projects, times stops and we focus on our work so much that we forget about our regular life. Also, after these kind of projects we are very exhausted. We had this evangelistic project in Pucioasa, Targoviste, Urziceni, Runcu and Vulcana Pandele.

In Urziceni, we received approval to have our project in the auditorium, but the mayor changed his mind. We had given invitations to the auditorium, so this was a difficult moment for us. The church prayed for us and the Lord opened a door for us and we were allowed to use the building of the Brethren Church for our event. So, we redirected the people towards our new location.

In the village of Runcu, we received approval to use the auditorium, but the Orthodox priest also had an event there, so we had to use a room at the second floor. In the evening, the Orthodox priest came to us and I talked to him for more than an hour and a half. He seems to be a good person, but he is very loyal to the Orthodox tradition and has a wrong understanding of the Word of God. In previous years, similar meetings ended up with violent arguments and with police intervention. This time, we only had a good discussion, in spite of different opinions.

We talked to 650 people. Many of them were not open or able to receive the Gospel. I heard many life stories and most of them were sad and with negative consequences. I could see once again the consequences of sin. The idea that man can be happy on earth is very false. Humanity is indulged in sin and this is very easy to notice. I would like to share with you several testimonies.

One lady was over 80 years old. When you are young, you don’t realize that you are going to change. She didn’t have children, but lives with her husband who has Alzheimer. She was sad because her husband has sold the car and can’t remember to whom. The woman tried to find out the buyer, but wasn’t able.

One man is deaf and dumb. How could you explain the Gospel to such a person? You feel so helpless. Still, I told him to try to read my lips and he did. We know that our Lord healed people like him. He is able!

Another lady had come to Runcu for a funeral and then she came to our clinic. She had an open heart and had the opportunity to hear the Word of God.

We pray that the Lord would work in every heart that heard the Gospel message!

Through God’s grace, our daughter Rebeca Tomeci has graduated from high school! She is preparing now for a new stage in her life. We are thankful to the Lord for the way in which He has been working in her and for the motivation she has to know the Lord better! She loves people and wants to be a blessing for those around her. She was a blessing for her high school colleagues and she even discipled several girls who are now following the Lord. We pray that the Lord would use her in other people’s lives! Please pray that the Lord would protect her and bless her wherever she goes and in everything she does!
