HeartCry missionary Anatol Dunas relates this month how Emmanuel Church in Cahul, Moldova, is using various opportunities to build up the Church and enlarge the kingdom of God. Pictured is a team of workers who volunteered a week of their time to work on the camp project. He reports:

Brother Chris, the English teacher that we equipped for teaching English through the Gospel of John, told me this week that the study is really special, “Who is Jesus and how can you have everlasting life?” He has two students now.

Madalina has 30 students and she teaches English. She prays with them before or after the lesson, according to what they study from the Word each time. She teaches English using different passages from the gospels. Madalina also has a group with which she is studying the Gospel of John. It is so wonderful to see how your disciples do wonderful things when they are equipped with a good study material and are encouraged to persevere.

The Bible School is coming to an end in May. This is a challenging work, but it has good results. We have 15 students attending the school and all of them have become involved in ministry. I am thankful to all the brothers that come from Moldova or Romania to teach the students besides me. After graduating, the students will receive a graduation certificate from the Theological University in Chisinau. Some of the teachers from the University are also teaching here.

We had “The Road of the Cross” drama in Cahul this month. We’ve been preparing for it over the last three months. About 3,000 people watched this drama. The actors’ ministry had a great impact. This event was received with enthusiasm, but with many negative remarks as well. I was sad to hear of all the negative remarks at first, but then other people brought arguments that supported the outreach, so the people were challenged to think broader and more biblically.

Tudor (69), my disciple, also watched “The Road of the Cross”. He was surprised to see how many people criticized this event. But he still appreciated this drama, saying that it just showed the things that took place back then.

Every two weeks, we go on the campsite to worship the Lord there and then we work for an hour or two. A team of American builders came to help us for a week. On April 24th, we transported the church members on the campsite where we worked together for two hours and then had an evangelistic service for the 15 non-Christian workers who are working there. We gave them Gospel tracts entitled “Answers for Life”. Vova is the leader of these workers’ teams and he is a Christian. He prays with them before meals and tries to lead them to the Lord step by step.

On April 23rd, we transported the entire church to the campsite, along with two other groups of believers from Badicu and Baurci. We had a worship service there and then worked and had meal together.

I have started teaching the evangelistic seminar “First Aid” in the public schools. Iulian, my disciple, is teaching in “Ion Creanga” High School. He has already reached over 50 students with the Gospel through this seminar. I teach in the “Ioan Voda” High School and have also instructed over 250 students already. The seminar is based on the Samaritan’s Parable, where the Pharisee asks how he could have everlasting life.

The Pharisee asks Jesus these questions, calling Him “Master”. So, we ask the students: “What subject does Jesus teach if the Pharisee asks him about the everlasting life?” They answered, “Jesus teaches about everlasting life.” This led to a good dialogue concerning the need to come to Jesus for everlasting life.
