Nepal Conference 1

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am encouraged to give you a report of our latest conference. The topic of this conference was “Difficulties in Marriage and Counseling.” The conference speaker was Pastor Jimmy L. It was not easy for the speaker to speak six and seven sessions each day, but by the grace of God, brother Jimmy was strengthened for this task. Praise God for His grace.

Altogether, 135 people participated in this conference. We had participants from all ages and relationship statuses. They came from different geographical locations, some from the city and some came from the mountains, where they had to walk a whole day to get to the bus that would bring them to the meeting place. It was not easy, but we see them the hunger for the truth.

Honestly, this conference was very, very astounding, and it seems that God has used these truths in the lives of many brothers and sisters. Many have acknowledged their sin and their weakness were exposed in light of His truth. We are a sinful people, save by grace. We live in a broken world, and many struggle in their marriages, but the Gospel gives us hope! It is clear that there is no other hope in anything else, apart from Christ and His gospel.

We heard from many married couples and how they were blessed by this teaching. Even those who are seeking marriage were helped. In our local church, after the meetings were over, we organized an opportunity for the people to share how God had blessed through this conference. Many confessed their weakness and how God exposed their sins. Many recommitted to love and support their spouses, and to care for and help the single brothers and sisters in the church. I was very amazed to listen to how God spoke in their hearts in exposing their sins and weakness. Personally, my wife and I was both encouraged and challenged. While sitting at the conference, we had tears in our eyes as we saw His glorious gospel in light of our marriage. We both enjoyed this conference.

We were able to translate all the session’s notes. Although it was not easy to translate 171 pages in Nepali in such a short time, the Lord helped us. We want our people to get these notes in our own language, so they might be blessed by it in years to come. We truly enjoyed translating this material. In addition to that, many of the participants have taken the audio home with them, while others are watching video of this conference, and also revising the notes.

The importance of this teaching cannot be understated. If our marriages are weak, chances are the church will also be very weak. As we are striving to grow in the Lord, please continue to pray for us. May Christ be exalted and honored through our marriages and singleness. A conference like this causes us to look forward to the great marriage supper of Christ and His Bride, the Church. As the apostle John says, “Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure” – for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me,”write this: blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” John 19:6-9

In Him,

Silas
