We received this “thank you” letter from a missionary in Peru, Jorge Marsano. Over the past two years, HeartCry has had the opportunity to support Jorge in the mountain jungles of Oxapampa, Peru, where he is doing the work of church planting, as well as visiting and strengthening a number of churches in the surrounding area:

“I would like to express my gratitude for the way this ministry has worked with us in the cause of missions in Peru through the various ways they support our family. More than anything, I want to make known my thanks to God “for the grace of God which was given [us] in Christ Jesus” (1 Corinthians 1:4), without which we could do absolutely nothing. His sovereign grace is shown to us in many different ways, both in our family and our ministry. We give things to God for everything, just as we’re told to do in Ephesians 5:20.

With regard to the support of HeartCry, we also express our deepest gratitude. I recall the concern that’s been shown from the very beginning when I first met Paul Washer and he invited me to attend a conference on church ministry in Washington D.C. Afterwards, he invited me to come to the HeartCry offices in Virginia for several days. That time served as an opportunity for us to get to know one another a little more. It was also during that time that one of the most important helps to my ministry was given to me: HeartCry offered to buy books for my personal library that would be useful for the ministry. Without a doubt, the purchase of these literature resources was one of the greatest and most beneficial helps that I’ve ever received in order to be able to study and teach the Scriptures.

Later, HeartCry began covering my expenses for the serious study of exegesis and preaching in a reputable seminary, which has been a monumental help in further developing and strengthening the ministry the Lord has called me to.

From the moment we began pursuing our desire to serve the Lord in the work of missions in Oxapampa, HeartCry has been a great support. They have shown loving consideration and have wanted to be involved with us in this work of going and making disciples of Jesus Christ. Through HeartCry, the Lord has greatly provided for the needs of our family. All those who contribute to HeartCry have made it possible for my family’s material needs to be met, and the gratitude that I feel for you all is beyond what I can express. HeartCry has demonstrated a loving heart toward me and I’ve seen their genuine concern and generosity toward the work of missions and missionary families in every place.

The relationship that we have been able to enjoy with HeartCry has been precious to us over these past few years, and I wanted to write this letter to express to you all our thankfulness—though I wish I could hug you all in person. From the heart I want to tell you that we love you all!”
