HeartCry Missionary Nicolae Dunas serves in Cahul, Moldova.  As a Taekwondo instructor, he has a unique ministry of teaching the gospel in conjunction with his martial arts training.  He requires all students, both young and old, to study the gospel.

Recently, Nicolae was elected as vice president of the National Taekwondo Federation. He says, “From this position, I am trying to help the Taekwondo clubs affiliated with the Federation to serve the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Nicolae requests prayer for his wife, Natalia, as she is facing a fifth surgery.

In this months report he shares about his Taekwondo outreach and Natalia’s women’s ministry:

“Through God’s grace I had the joy of studying John with the athletes. We have finished the study this month. These lessons give us the opportunity to open our Bibles. I could see that some of the athletes were interested to discover the truth in the Scripture. They wanted to read ahead in order to know the answers as they had questions. We had a good time studying about the Person of the Lord Jesus and about the way in which we can be saved.

I had a discussion with the trainer to the youngest group of athletes. He is having a hard time in relationships as he is an introvert. He had some arguments with his brother recently, regarding a relationship with a Christian girl. He doesn’t agree with their relationship. But with God’s helped, the conflicts were resolved. I will discuss with him again.

As the vice president of the Federation I will be in charge of teaching the trainers who stand before the athletes. We organize seminars for them and the referees on a regular basis. On March 23, I spoke to them from 1 John from which we had discussions about how to confess our sins daily.

My wife is involved in ministering to the sisters in the south of the country. I am not directly involved in this ministry, but I support my wife in what she does. She had the opportunity to minister to over 300 women on March 8th, encouraging them through her messages. About 120 of these women were non-believers. Twenty of them prayed to repent. Natalia had an interesting experience in the village of Sirma, close to Liova. The church organized a women’s meeting entitled “Blossom Where You Are”. There are five sisters in this church where they gathered 56 non-Christian women at the meeting, including the school principal. Many of them prayed the prayer of repentance. This experience, as well as the other five meetings that she had on this occasion, was very encouraging to my wife.

We also had a nice experience with an aunt, which is not a Christian. She is facing health issues similar to those of Natalia. We met in Chisinau where Natalia told her that she had seen a good doctor, who explained to her what was going on in her body. The aunt asked Natalia, “But how did you get to this good doctor?” And Natalia told her that she got there with the Lord’s help. The aunt asked: “What Lord?” “Although the doctor performed my surgery, it was the Lord Jesus as I tried so hard to find someone to help me get to this doctor since he is so busy.” So, we had the grace of sharing with her how the Lord guided us and how great God is and that He gets involved in our small problems.
