It has been a few months since we updated our Heart Cry faith family on baby George Ciorna.  After multiple health problems from premature birth, the son of Gelu and Olga Ciorna is slowly making progress.  Gelu shares the following about his baby boy, “we faced the same challenges this month with our son, George. We had to go to Bucharest twice this month for medical check-ups and treatment as he is recovering after the eye surgery he went through.

On December 23 we were in Bucharest again for a check-up. After the doctor looked at him, she smiled. I realized that she was going to give us good news. Both of his eyes were almost completely healed from retinopathy. I asked the doctor about the consequences and she said that children that recover from retinopathy usually have to wear glasses, but there were also cases of complete healing. I told the doctor that she had given us good news, just as God gave us the Good News at Christmas. The doctor’s answer was a challenge to me as she said, “I wish I could give the same good news to all the parents that are waiting at my door, but…”

Her answer was a burden to my mind because several days ago Olga called a woman she met at the hospital in Chisinau. This woman gave birth to two twin girls and one of them was in the same situation as George. Tragically, her baby girl got sick with pneumonia and died. Her mother was very sad. Olga used to call this woman from time to time and pray for her. This situation made us be more sensitive towards people in the same situation and also made us afraid for George’s life. We prayed for this and decided to do our best in this situation by trusting God totally. We are depending only on Him.”

Gelu expresses his thanks for everyone who has prayed for George’s healing.  He asked us to pray for his baby son as he takes him to other doctors over the upcoming months.  He also request prayer for little George’s head as it is not growing normal in proportion to his body.  There are a few signs of unusual development.
