Dear HeartCry Friends,

Warm greetings from Eastern Europe! We thank God for the abundance grace we experience in our daily life. You are all part of this grace that is bestowed upon us month by month. I want to underline a few highlights from our monthly ministry, so that you can rejoice, and pray for us, and our ministry.

The key event that marked the month of April was the HeartCry Conference. This time, we had as teachers two of the most prominent theologians of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from Louisville, KY. Dr. Bruce Ware is a dear friend of us, and he honored our invitation of coming and teaching once again, after his four previous visits. He taught the five solas of the Reformation. The audiences was enriched in the Biblical knowledge, as Dr. Ware exposed the Word in a very unique way. Along with Dr. Ware, we had the joy of having Dr. Thomas Schreiner, who travelled for the first time in Romania. He is a close friend of Dr. Ware, and they both travelled for this conference. Dr. Schreiner taught on the Theology of the Covenants, and the relationship between the biblical covenants. We all testified the power of the Word, as we captured the big picture of the salvation history.

The Conference took place in Comanesti, and lasted three days. We had a good attendace, having missionaries from Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, and Hungary. After the three days of teaching, we all returned to our churches, as we celebrated Easter. Dr. Ware, and Dr. Schreiner served in our churches on this special occasion. Dr. Schreiner served at our church, Providence, in Brasov, and it was a great blessing to hear the Word preached on such an occasion. I also had the opportunity to travel quite a bit with Dr. Schreiner, and ask him lots of theological questions.

Another significant event around Easter was the launch of the new church plant in the district of Avantgarden. We shared lots of Bible tracts with the Resurrection message, and made invitations to people for joining in a special service on Eastern Sunday in a coffee shop. We had a good attendance for the first event, and it was encouraging for us all, particularly for Emmanuel, our missionary for this new church plant.

The construction project of HeartCry Centre continued with some opperations outside the building, but the paperwork continue to be the greatest challenge thus far. We pray and hope to finish by the fall, so that our church can meet in the new place. We would appreciate your prayers on this topic.

I would also appreciate prayers for my health condition. After the surgery, I wasn’t able to take enough time to recover, and I pushed a bit too much. I am not sure the recovery followed the normal course, or I teared up something inside. I will have to go and check with the surgeon if all is fine.

Pray for us, as we continue to serve our great Savior, and proclaim the Good News.

In Christ,

Sorin P.
