nepalrelieftrip2-1

Dear Brethren,

Praise be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We were able to make our second relief trip in Lamjung, Kolki. We are thankful for your ministry of prayer and the gifts that you have sent for the needy land.

On May 31 Brother Greg P. and I left for Kolki from Butwal on our motor bike. We reached Beshishar at 5:00pm. We stayed with Pastor Dil Bahadur that night. On the next day we started our journey at 8:00am and reached our first destination at 1:00pm. We struggled on our journey because of the bad roads.

By the grace of God we were able to reach there. We saw some of the houses are temporarily constructed quickly which we had provided tin in our first visit. Some of the houses were still under construction.

Our team has already planned out to work among the school children. About 70 percent of the houses were damaged in that area. We have found many children were struggling in their schooling. So we collected data from five schools to help them when we return; three primary level schools and two secondary level schools.

On June 3rd we returned back to Butwal and on 4th we reported to our brethren what the Lord has shown us to do. We prayed together and planned out for the relief work.

On June 7th the four of us started our journey at 6:30am from Butwal. We reached Besishar at 1:30 pm. Along with us brother Pradeep from Besishar gave us his company for this trip. We hired a jeep and reached Kolki at 6:00pm.

We had a privilege to visit this family. This man has five children and his wife forsook him and the children and he is taking care of his children by himself. All day he works in a field and earns money and supply food for his children. His house also collapsed and he is just living within this small red roof. We provided school bags and clothes to those children. We are praying and looking forward to help these little ones.

On June 8th we had a relief program at Himalayan Secondary School. We distributed school dress, note books, pen and pencil to 230 numbers of students.

God has given us a privilege to share the Gospel publicly and privately. May the Lord open their hearts and come to Jesus Christ. He is at work and He is mighty to save. Please pray for this bunch of children and men that they come to Christ.
We also supported 18 children’s of Chandi Primary School. All these children come from a poor family. We distributed school dress, pens, note books and pencils. In the same way we supported 56 children of Bal Kalyan Primarily School and 47 children of Buddha Primary school with the same. We were privileged to meet primary school teachers and shared the truth with them personally.

We went to Gauda Secondary school. We had a short time there. We distributed school bags and pens for 211 students in this school.

We returned back to Besishar on June 8th and stayed the night at the hotel. On June 9th we returned back to Butwal. We are thankful to the Lord giving us this privilege to share the love of Christ among those victims’ people and children. This is a small work we have done and we hope that Lord is glorified and honored. We continue to seek an opportunity to help and share the truth of the Gospel either privately or publically among our Nepalese community so that the Gospel can shine in this part of the World.

Your fervent prayer and contribution has reached out to those needy souls with the love of our savior Jesus Christ. We hope that our labor will not be in vain and that the Lord will bring new souls from this part of the world. We are so thankful to you laboring together for the advancement of His kingdom. Praise and glory to our almighty God!

In Christ,
Bro Silas Gurung
