Dear HeartCry Supporters,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am thankful to the Lord for your continual prayers and support. This time I would like to share the ministry of the local church. It is such a joy what the Lord has been doing among our body.

Deacons Appointed

As the Lord wants His Church to grow stronger and healthier, He has blessed us with the addition of two deacons. Our church has observed these men for a long time now. We have seen their desire, service, gifts, and qualifications.

These men are sincere and very committed to serving the local church with their gifts. They have been a blessing to the church as they minister and edify His people. One of the brothers is being used among the orphan children as a caregiver. Words cannot express how thankful and blessed we are to have these two men of God serving among us. Praise God for their commitment to the kingdom.  Please pray for these two brothers and their families as they continue to grow and serve His church faithfully.

Baptism at the Church

God has added three members to our body through Baptism. I trust your hearts will be encouraged in the Lord as you read their brief testimonies of how the Lord saved them.

Dillon: The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was preached to this brother ten years ago when he began visiting the church with his father and mother. He was a teenage boy, and though he was coming to church, his heart was not changed. Even though he had many opportunities to listen to the gospel repeatedly, his heart was hardened to the truth, and he continually chose to live according to his desires. His selfish behavior brought hard times to his father and mother. Later on at the age of 17, he married his girlfriend. She attended another local church in the area. When they got married, she started coming to our church. As I talked with her about the gospel and her faith, it became clear that something was wrong. I asked why she had been baptized, and she replied that the pastor’s wife forced her. After this, it took her attending our church for three years, before her heart was enlightened. Finally, she understood that she is a sinner who needs Christ for the forgiveness of sin. She surrendered her life to Christ and proclaimed her faith through baptism.

After this she was faithful to encourage her husband to come to the church. As Dillon started coming to church, we counseled him over and over regarding the work of Christ, calling him to repentance and faith. In Lord’s own time He saved brother Dillon, changing his heart and giving him new life. Dillon gave a testimony to our church about how God saved him, how he had before lived in sin, rejecting the gospel and the free grace of God. But now he publicly professed his faith in Christ, being baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Please pray for brother Dillon, his wife, and their little daughter. May the Lord help this brother continue to grow in his faith.

Ronda: Sister Ronda migrated from the mountains. Before she migrated, she used to attend a church there in order to receive physical healing. She went for three years but never understood the Gospel. When she started coming to our church, she was exposed to the true Gospel of Christ. She came to understand that her biggest problem was not physical, but spiritual. She repented of her sins and placed her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. As she continued attending church, the Lord was gracious and gave her physical healing. Praise the Lord for His mighty work in saving this sister. Please continue to pray for her as she grows more in Christ. Please do pray for her husband and two children, who are not believers.

Paul: Uncle Paul attended church, but was not a believer. He and his wife migrated from the mountains into our town. He visited our church one week before the first Covid lockdown. After the church opened again, he and his wife started attending regularly. Our weekly studies helped him understand the Gospel more clearly. Before this, he had lived in sin, mistreated his family, and was an alcoholic. Praise God that He changed Paul’s life, opening his eyes to see Christ. Pray for his wife—that the Lord would open the eyes of her heart to see Christ and trust Him for salvation.

Baptism program at the Church Plant

Our God is great and His kingdom is advancing not only here, but also 40 km from us, where a small group of believers meet every Friday. I have been going to this place for five years now, and it is evident that the Lord is saving souls and establishing His church in this area. Recently two new members have joined:

Alisson: Sister Alisson is the daughter-in-law of one of the members of this church plant. Initially, she was not interested in the Lord, even though she attended church services. It was God’s sovereign plan to keep her in attendance until He exposed her sins by preaching of His Word. This is the power of the Gospel. She realized her sin before the Lord and understood that the wrath of God that upon her. She was baptized, and in her testimony, she declared, “I am a wretched sinner and Christ is my only hope to save me from my sin. I have trusted Him as my Savior.” Please pray for Alisson as she continues to grow in Christ. Pray for her husband who is not a believer. May the Lord use her as an instrument to call her husband to Himself.

Adam: Brother Adam was a part of an unbiblical church, but was invited to attend our fellowship. Of course, the teaching he heard was enlightening to him. Previously he was part of the prosperity gospel movement, but the Lord exposed him to the true Biblical Gospel. However, after a year of attending our church, he decided to move to a gulf country for work. He stayed three years before returning again to Nepal because he could not find a local church there. Here he was baptized, and his testimony was clear: “Outside of Christ there is no hope at all, and I want to surrender my life to Him. I am a sinner, and Christ is my Savior, and He has saved me by His blood. Christ alone is my Redeemer.” Please continue to pray for Adam and his family, in which he is the only believer. Many times he has shared the gospel with his wife, but she has continuously rejected it. But recently she has begun attending our church with him, so please pray that the Lord would grant salvation to her and their small son.

A Missionary Sent Out

Dear brothers and sisters, it is with great excitement that I tell you about the work the Lord is doing. Most of you know about our intern, brother Binod T. He stayed with us for almost four years, training for future ministry. Many have poured into the life of this young man. We have taken him through systematic theology, OT & NT survey, hermeneutics and homiletics, expository preaching, and pastoral theology. Alongside his study, he had many opportunities to learn practical service in the life of a church. He has walked beside us, and has witnessed our family life, ministry, challenges, weakness, and difficulties. These have helped him grow and take ministry seriously. We praise God for the blessing it was to invest in this brother’s life.

The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3:6: “I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.” God is the One who has made Binod grow in his life and ministry. Nearing the end of his internship, the Lord also blessed him with a godly lady who also has a deep desire to serve the Lord in full-time ministry as a caregiver to orphans. As our church has recognized their life, ministry, and desire, it is our great honor to send them out to minister in a church plant. Praise God for this brother and sister.

In Mathew 9:37-38 Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Praise God that He has answered our prayers. Please pray for this couple as the Lord uses them for the advancement of His Kingdom. Pray that in every trial and difficulty they will continue to grow, and press on toward the goal of the upward call in Christ. Please also pray for more faithful laborers in this very needy land. As you know the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Finally, I want to thank all the HeartCry supporters for your prayers and support. Your ministry has been a tremendous blessing to our lives, family, and ministry.  I feel as blessed as Paul, as “I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.” – Philippians 4:18.

Glory to God Alone!

In Him,

Silas G.
