“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

Dear Friends in Christ,

We bring greetings in the name of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s been a couple of months since we wrote a news letter, so we thought that it’s high time we should write one again.

The world frowns at the very idea that one has to give account to the Supreme Judge at the end of the day. But that is what the Bible teaches us. We cannot compromise the truth and make it more palatable to God-haters who reject the fact that salvation is only found in the name of Jesus and through trusting in Him alone. And to proclaim this is even more challenging in a pluralistic society such as ours. But we know the truth because the truth has set us free, and we want to share this good news with everyone.

Reformed Baptist Church (Our Local Church)

It is with great joy that we report to you that Brother Ramesh and Sister Bramhi confessed their sins to the Lord Jesus Christ and were baptized on the previous Lord’s Day. It was a day when our hearts were filled with thanksgiving to the Lord. Please pray that these two would continue to grow in their faith and witness to their friends, relatives and family. Ramesh is a motorbike mechanic and started coming to our church one year ago. To put it in his own words, “Hebrews 11 overwhelmed my heart (at the moment, we have been doing our studies from the book of Hebrews, chapter 11), and I kept reading it again, and again, and again. And truly, it is far, far better to endure suffering with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.” And to hear such words from a person who has never been to school encourages us greatly to continue serving such a glorious God!

Bramhi is a girl who was baptized, as well. Bramhi is the first girl ever to be baptized from our Children’s Home. She has confessed with her mouth and believed in her heart that Jesus Christ is her Lord. Her non-believing mother came to witness this. Bramhi’s friend, Bindu, who is also another girl from the Children’s Home, also wanted to receive baptism, as well. But she faced challenges from her non-believing relatives. Her relatives brainwashed her to not take baptism. In the end she backed away from taking part in it. We explained to her the cost that is involved if she were to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. Please pray for Bindu, too, that she would face up with the ultimate reality of being reconciled unto God.

Evangelism

Brother John Paul and I are doing evangelism on Saturdays on a regular basis. We distribute Gospel tracts and engage in conversations with people in the streets. Please pray that the Lord would bless this ministry and that many others from the church would join us.

Gospel Meetings

We will be having Gospel meetings in T__________ Village (where Brother Yehoshua is) and J_______ Village (where Brother Yesu Das is) in the month of May, God willing. Please pray that the Lord would be pleased to convict sinners and that they would put their trust in Him. And pray that the local pastors would be faithful in doing follow-up work. We realize that we cannot convert people. If we could, we would have produced masses of them by now! But we are entirely dependent on the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit (John 3:8).

Bible Training Institute

There are about 17 pastors meeting regularly to attend the classes where we teach Systematic Theology, Old Testament and New Testament Survey, and Church History. Pastors have benefited from this training immensely. Please pray that this training would be used to propel them to be good students of the Word, along with being faithful pastors and evangelists.

Indians will be casting their votes in a big way in May 2014. Please pray that the Lord will give power to the right leaders to accomplish His own purposes. Please let us know your prayer requests so that we may continue to pray for you, too.

In His Grace,
Sandeep K.
