RBS Training 5
The men in Nepal receiving training on missions.

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  I am so grateful to the Lord for the work that He has been doing among our brethren in Nepal. We have completed the fifth module of the RBS training this month. The first module was on the doctrine of Scripture, which was followed by a module on hermeneutics, the doctrine of salvation, the doctrine of the Church, and the last training, which was on church planting and missions. Each of these different modules has been a great blessing and help in our practical life and ministry.

On August 11-15, we were taught by brother Chris, an experienced and humble missionary who has serves in an Asian cross-cultural context.  In our time together, the 30 sessions he taught were both biblical and practical. We learned that missions and church planting is two sides of the same coin. We cannot separate them. Both take place at the same time. We examined missions from a covenantal perspective from the Old Testament, as well as from the book of Acts and Epistles in the New Testament. The great commission from Matt 28:18-20, and the command to “go and make disciples of all the nations” was especially encouraging to us. Seeing the missionary method of the Apostle Paul, as well as looking at cross-cultural mission work, was excellent. We received so many practical truths, it would be too much to write about. Through this training, we were able to see our weakness and our unbiblical methods and principles. This was very eye-opening for all of us. We praise God for this training, our guest speaker, and the precious time and energy he gave to serve us. It is not easy to stand and teach 6-7 hours a day.

We are so thankful to brother Chris for sending his notes early, and for brother Doug who translated them. His hard work in translating all the notes really helped the students follow what the teacher was teaching. It will also help us remember the truths that we learned, as we can go back and look at them again.

Thank God for this training, for He truly helped every one of us as we studied these truths together. Thank God for His grace in keeping Chris physically strong. Thanks to the RBS for praying and sending brother Chris to train us. Thanks to HeartCry Missionary Society for your prayers and financial support for this training. Thanks to all the prayer partners for your great contributions to the gospel work in Nepal. I do believe we all will have a great reward in heaven as we labour together for His kingdom. Praise to our God!

In Him,

Silas
