Brother Sorin prodan gives the following account of the Lord honoring faithfulness in spite of an alcoholic’s refusal to trust Christ:

In Olteni, the Lord worked in a family that I have been visiting for about one year. The man who is 49 and his wife, 45, have two children. There have always been problems in this family because the husband likes to drink alcohol and argue with his family. But he was always kind to me and welcomed me in his home. He always listened carefully to the Gospel message and even asked me questions about salvation. He came to church with his family several times, but each time he would go back to the bar and get drunk. His wife told me he was always like that. She said he was a good man, but because of the alcohol, he became violent and would even beat her and the children, when they tried to protect their mother. They almost got a divorce several times. Three weeks ago, the wife received the Lord as her Savior. We are glad that the Lord entered their family through the wife and we hope that He will save her husband too. The man used to drink alcohol every day, but he hasn’t been drinking for two weeks. We hope that he will also turn to God.
