In this video, Paul Washer interviews David Zadok. Brother Zadok is a pastor in Gedera, Israel, near the ancient Philistine cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon. David is also the director of Ha Gefen Publishing.

There is a crying need in Israel.  It is the same crying need of every nation and region in the world – the need for biblical churches proclaiming the true gospel and discipling believers.  In order for more biblical churches to be established in Israel, more pastors must be trained, equipped, and sent.

That training and equipping requires tools, and the tools of theological ministry often come in the form of good books.  This is where a major lack is exposed in the Israeli church.  There are pitifully few solid, biblical books in modern Hebrew.  No systematic theology.  No church history.  Only a handful of commentaries on a limited number of the books of the Bible.

As a pastor, imagine attempting to preach through a book of the Bible without a single commentary in your native tongue to help you discern the proper interpretation of the text.  Ha Gefen publishing is working to meet that crucial need through translating and publishing quality resources.  Their books, however, are not only for pastors.  They also produce biblical material for evangelism, training children, Christian marriage and family topics, and growth in spiritual maturity.
