Sandu Deau and his family live just outside of Chernovtsy, Ukraine. where he works very closely with Jon Gireada.  He has started two churches in his ministry.  In his recent report he shares: December is always a good time for ministry as things seem to be favorable for the proclaiming of Christ’s reign. I had several opportunities to testify about the Lord this month. Personal evangelism is the kind of evangelism that I like best and this is how I try to testify of the Lord. One of these opportunities was rare and special.

God provided me the opportunity to be invited to a meeting with many important people of the Romanian culture in our city. During the meeting, I had private discussions with most of the participants when I shared about my faith and purpose in life. God wnabled our story to stir the people’s interest and curiosity. I was grateful to God for this special opportunity to be His witness where I was able to speak to people about His wonderful work of salvation.

Another special event that I attended this month was a Christmas youth meeting. We invited all the young people in our area to attend and had about 300 participants. We’ve never had so many young people attend a worship service since I have lived here. Many non-Christian young people came. May God listen to our prayer and raise a new young generation for the ministry of His Kingdom and the exaltation of His name among this people!

As in every year, we are happy to celebrate the Lord’s birth twice. This year I visited the churches in Puieni and Poliana that I planted in the early 2000s when we began our ministry in Ukraine. I ministered among them for two days caroling with my family in both those villages and visiting about 40 families along the way. I also spoke of the Savior’s incarnation with some of them and gave Christian literature to each family that we visited. The following day, we went to church in Poliana, where I preached the Word. After the church service, we visited several non-Christian families from the village who were expecting us. This was also a special ministry because I haven’t been to these villages for a long time.

I am thankful to the Lord for thw many opportunities to testify about Him this month. I have only written here about three of them. God also gave us other favorable situations to testify about Him. Here’s an example:

At the beginning of the winter season, a woman from the village bought a pair of boots. One day, while she was visiting a neighbor, someone stole her boots that she had left outside. They were her only pair of boots for the winter. This was only one of several trials that happened to her and her family this year. The woman’s 21-year-old brother was drowned in August. Her husband underwent appendicitis surgery several months ago and recently, as he was cutting firewood, injured his knee with an axe. Hearing about all of this, we decided to help this family. We bought a pair of boots for the woman and helped them financially through difficult period.
