In March 2018, HeartCry supported 4 missionary pastors in South Africa. 3 years later, March 2021, HeartCry is now supporting 13 pastors in South Africa! This growth is due to the leadership that the Lord has raised up, and the oversight and accountability that have been put in place.
In the past month, we have begun serving 3 new pastors – 1 in Johannesburg and 2 in Cape Town.
Siya Pantshwa was discipled for a time by HeartCry missionary pastors Richard Raven and Tsholo Kukuni in Bloemfontein. He later completed a pastoral internship with their sending church, Emmanuel Baptist Church. Emmanuel Baptist then ordained Siya as an elder and they have sent him to establish a new church in Ruimsig. You can read his testimony and call to ministry here.
Des Cramer is the pastor of Coastal Bible Church in scenic Muizenberg, a well-known beach area in Cape Town, South Africa. The people Des is pursuing with the Gospel range from highly affluent on the mountainside to deep poverty in the flats. The area is also very multi-cultural due to many immigrants from several African nations. You can read his testimony and call to ministry here.
Alfonso Veerapen is pastor of Dennemere Baptist Church in Cape Town, South Africa. HeartCry’s leader in the Cape region, Mario Maneville, has been mentoring Alfonso since 2018. Alfonso is in the process of reforming an existing Baptist church to submit the church’s practice to the teaching of Scripture. This has been a challenging journey, and the church lost many former members in the process. Alfonso is now building back upon a more firm foundation. You can read Alfonso’s testimony and call to ministry here.
