Marshal Kasongo is pastor of Mapalo Reformed Baptist Church in Ndola, Zambia. It was exciting to read in his recent report of another conversion, and to hear how the church was showing the love of Christ to a Jehovah’s Witness family. On another note, it was sad to hear of a serious illness in Marshal’s youngest son.

Celebrating Conversion

“For four months, it was clear to us that Mr. Malupande was earnestly seeking the Lord. He never missed a Sunday meeting and was eager to learn biblical doctrine. Having attended several other churches, he felt strongly that our worship meetings followed Scriptural guidelines. At last, he confessed Christ and we have welcomed him into church membership. Please pray for Mr. Malupande and his wife, who is attending a Pentecostal church and is unwilling, for now, to attend our church with her husband.”

Loving Jehovah’s Witnesses

“The Lord has been so faithful in sending at least 1 or 2 new people to visit our church every Lord’s Day. Some of these noteworthy guests are a Jehovah’s Witness family. The husband came to our church after we extended the love of God to him in the hospital. One night on his way home from a drinking spree, he was attacked by armed robbers, beaten, and left almost dead. I visited him in the hospital and shared the mystery of Christ. He was very grateful to God. After he was discharged, the next week he came to church with his family of four. Since then, they have been attending our church regularly. They seem excited to meet with us and learn God’s word. Please pray for them to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord.”

Serious Illness in Marshal’s Son

“Please pray for our youngest son, Jabes. He has been diagnosed with a minor blockage in one of the arteries to his heart. He has experienced a rapid heartbeat once or twice a year for the past 4 years. Recently he had difficulty breathing while in school and a doctor examined him, which led to finding the blockage. Jabes is on medication and we are seeing some improvement.”
