Gospel in the Needy Land

Nepal An Overview

History tells that Christianity in Nepal started seventy years back. The mission organizations started to share the gospel but also brought hospitals and medical camp alongside. Most of the missionaries came to Nepal from Darjeeling (East India). It was very hard to share the gospel in those days, even thirty five years ago. However, Nepal is now experiencing rapid growth in Christianity statistically. Moreover we can see the evangelical churches are growing rapidly. Sound Gospel

“not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angle from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preach to you, let him be accursed.” – Gal 1: 7-8 ESV “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Rom 1:16 ES)V Digging back to these verses; it is a very serious matter to preach the gospel; false gospel preachers will be eternally condemned. But also the Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes if we preach the true gospel. In conclusion false gospel lead to false conversion and the True Gospel leads to true conversion. Nepal is known to have rapid growth of Christianity. But the point; there is no growth of true Christianity. Nepal is rooted by prosperity gospel, i.e. charismatic influences and shallow gospel presentation. We see very few biblical churches in Nepal. The beauty of the Gospel is being overshadowed by the prosperity gospel preacher. Challenges: One of the major problems in Nepal is the poverty of sound theological. Solid theological books are lacking in this needy land. Now HeartCry has started to help with  book translations. We are translating Nine Marks on Biblical Theology and Leadership and continue with other sound theological books. These sound biblical materials will help to establish right foundation of the church in Nepal. It is our burden and vision to establish Biblical churches in Nepal. Let the churches of Nepal be rooted in a deep truth of the Gospel and bring glory and honor to our God.

Ministry Activities

Bible Study Class: Bible study class is the most helpful study class. The elders of the churches and majority of youths are being involved in this class. We have been working on Westminster Shorter Catechism. We are going very slowly and deeply on its theology. Now in these days we are dealing on WSC Q 4: “Who is God?” Moreover, we are using Paul Washer’s workbook on “One True God” dealing on His attribute. Every Saturday after our meetings at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm we gather at Samdan Church Tarkula. This study meeting is very much helpful for our leaders and youths. Our men & women are growing in the Lord;

Knowing God and His son Jesus Christ (John 17:3)

We continue on this Bible study class as God directs us. We trust in God and look forward tas God raises young men and women as missionaries through our teaching, preaching & disciplining.

Basic Biblical Training in Mountain

Most of the parts in the mountains people are underprivileged of the gospel. People even hardly heard about the name of Lord Jesus Christ. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Rom 10:14-15 ESV) Let every nations, tongues and tribes come to know Christ as their personal Savior. It is our desire that the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ shine in this part of the word. We are thankful to the Lord that the gospel work in the mountain is growing. The common believers of the mountains have a great desire to seek and grow in the right understanding of God. On July 19 -21 we had privileged to serve the people with the basic biblical training. People were very much blessed in the Lord through this training. We trust in the Lord that He will save more people from this part of the word because He is mighty to save.

Prayer Request

  1. Please pray for the gospel ministry in Nepal, especially Bible study class and small training.
  2. Pray for the translation work that we have made our vision.
  3. Pray for the HeartCry missionaries, their family and ministry.
  4. Please pray for Nepal that the situation is going worse and worse. Now there is scarcity of gas and other materials. Those materials supply from India and Indian government has stooped to supply because of the New Constitution of Nepal and violence near the Indian border. We are so thankful to the HeartCry for your prayers, encouragements and support. It is a great joy and blessing for us to labor together for His kingdom. Let His kingdom advance in this needy land and honor Christ. Thank You! In Him,

Silas
