Recently we had an open air evangelistic service in Paita. As the service was getting going, and as I was praying that God would give me strength to preach, a man came to me saying, “Pastor, please, come to my house! My daughter [who is a local politician] is in very bad health. I want you to come pray for her.” There were only 20 minutes before I was supposed to preach in the outdoor service, so I told the man that as soon as I finished preaching I would go to his house. But he said, “Pastor, I insist; it’s urgent!” So, I decided to walk with him quickly to his house and we went up to the second floor where his daughter was. I noticed immediately that she was pregnant. I only had 15 minutes now before the service started, so I only prayed for her salvation, as well as the salvation of her family, and I told them that I could return. They agreed and said that they would see me the next day.

The following day I returned and they were all waiting for me. They told me that she had rested very well that night and were thankful that I came to pray for her. I then used it as an opportunity to tell them about the gospel of Christ. I told them that the condition of their souls is far more urgent than their physical condition. They were very attentive to the message. They told me that they wanted to continue hearing the gospel. I invited them to our church and this past Sunday the entire family came. We are praying for the salvation of this family.

Also this month, I visited with my brother-in-law in a nearby city. I have been sharing the gospel with him for my years, and also with his wife. His wife called me and asked me to come visit them and asked if I could bring her a Bible, so I took a Bible to them. She called again this past week and told me that she had given her life to Christ and she wanted me to come visit them again. I went with my whole family and we spent that night and the entire next day talking about the things of the Lord. They’ve made a commitment to begin attending church every week, and for now they’re coming to Paita to be a part of our church. This is the first time that my brother-in-law’s wife has ever been inside Christian church building. Please continue praying for them, that they all might see Christ and be saved.

Brothers and sisters, this Sunday was beautiful seeing the church building very full. We had about 15 people visiting who are not believers and they are all very interested in the gospel. We are thankful to our God that they are coming to hear the preaching of the gospel. We praise Him for all of this! Please, pray.
