Update From India

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God has dealt with us graciously. In the past months, our church had the privilege of hosting a regional conference on Biblical Church Growth. The conference was attended by many people from various parts of my region—church members, pastors, leaders, seminary students. The emphasis of the conference was upon a right understanding of the church, of whom the church is constituted, and what Biblical growth means. God used the conference to encourage and foster strength among the attendees to stand firm on the truth. I believe many were challenged and convicted. I am also thankful to all the dear pastors who sacrificed their strength, time, and finances to preach the truth unashamedly.

I covet your prayers for the fruit of this conference, that those who were encouraged by the truth will continue to stand by it unremittingly, and that God would grant repentance to those who were convicted. Please pray that Christ would multiply in our region healthy local churches which understand and preach the true Gospel, and live in complete trust in God.

I am also thankful to all the dear pastors who sacrificed their strength, time, and finances to preach the truth unashamedly.

New Church Member

The Lord has graciously added a member to our Church, who has been a faithful Christian serving in the military. I had the privilege of discipling him for nearly three years. His love for God and His people is evident. Even while in the military camp, I got to know about his evangelism efforts in starting a fellowship with other fellow Christians. He is now stationed to a new post, and there he will be continue his work of evangelism and seeking out other fellow Christians for fellowship.

Please pray for this dear brother in his new post, for all the good works he will be doing for the Lord. Pray for God to grant him opportunities for evangelism and friends in Christ for regular fellowship. This brother has a desire to serve the Lord in some years and so will be taking voluntary retirement. Please pray that the Lord will guide him with wisdom and insight, and that our Lord will sustain Him in his faithful service for the Gospel.

Church Family Leaves To Pursue Ministry

We bid farewell to a family of our church as they pursue training for future ministry. It was a moment of loving tears when the whole church came to know about their departure. Their departure has been hard for all of us, primarily because of the genuine love we have for each other in the Lord, which God has cultivated among us through His word even in spite of the differences we have. But we are also joyful about where the Lord is leading them.

Please pray for the family that they will be equipped and useful to God. Also, pray for the rest of us, that our hearts be encouraged in our Lord’s promises, His presence, and His good providence. Pray that we would work faithfully for the Gospel.

Biblical Womanhood

The women’s training on “Biblical Womanhood” by Sister Cindy is being greatly used by God here in my region. On one hand, it has winsomely exposed the lies of the world that many of the sisters used to believe. It is building them up in the truth of God’s design and purpose for womanhood. We are thankful to God for Cindy and her labour for our sisters.

Please pray that God will prosper the lives of the sisters in living according to the role God has designed for them, and that through their lives of faithfulness they will likewise train other women to the glory of God. Pray also that God would add more faithful sisters to the ministry.

Evangelizing the Lost

Recently I had an opportunity to have a conversation with a Roman Catholic priest. It was an hours-long conversation. I praise God that I was able to speak the Gospel to him. I do not doubt his desire to please God through his good works but I am saddened by that his motivation is to gain merit for salvation. I have a genuine love and concern for him. Please pray for his salvation, and that the Lord will enlighten the eyes of his heart and grant him the ultimate freedom we have in Christ, the access we have through the Spirit, and the blessed citizenship we have in Christ’s kingdom.

Pray For Us

Lastly, dear brethren, I urge you to continually lift us before the throne of our great and gracious King. Pray for all the works that have been carried out and also for our future endeavours. We are nothing and can do nothing except in utter dependence upon God’s power, Christ’s grace and the Spirit’s assistance. My heart appreciates very much your sacrifices through all the financial support you all have been giving to us in love, and the genuine desire to save souls and equip saints. Yet what we need most of all is your pleading and intercession. So, dear brethren, please pray for our church, for me, for my family, and all the ongoing work here. We desire it exceedingly, and we need it more than all else.

In all these, may God’s glory be increased. Soli Deo Gloria.
